One Poem by John Grey

DRIVING BY THE HOUSE OF MY CHILDHOOD

The window on the right
is a bookmark
in the house’s thick pages.

The back yard
is an index.
The front, a dedication.

The fence is as frame
in search of a cover photo.

My face is pressed
against the glass
of the driver’s side front window.
Snap a picture now.
